We work with any type of input file which contains editable text from Word, Excel, PowerPoint to XML, LaTeX, PDF-text or other. All non-Word files are converted to Word with internal processes. With just one click the file is coded and all important formatting is mapped.

The text is imported in InDesign and several scripts are run. All special formatting is decoded and mapped with character styles. Then the file is automatically cleaned and all the issues are solved (e.g., wrong line breaks, wrong hyphenation, footnotes wrongly formatted, special characters, etc.). All paragraphs are automatically styled with a paragraph style according to its content (e.g., titles, quotes, alineas, etc.). All images are automatically styled and resized if necessary. All tables are automatically styled and resized if necessary.

In this step, the file is checked page by page in comparison with the original manuscript. Our typesetters create the layout of the book taking into account the template specifications, as well as the customer requirements. The images are arranged, the tables are adjusted (if necessary) and any other changes regarding to the layout are performed. Table of Content, List of Figures, List of Tables and Indexes are automatically generated and updated whenever necessary. The first version of the book (pdf file) is exported.

The book is carefully checked in terms of consistency and uniformity. The main goal of this step is to ensure that the whole content of the book is presented in accordance with the author's expectations.

This final step consists of automatically checking the fixed parts of the book, such as page numbering, table of contents, indexes and footnotes. We also make sure that the whole content of the manuscript is fully integrated in the first proof. We use automatic tools in order to make sure that not a single character has been added or deleted.
